In this session you will learn about the work the Perry K-8 School has been doing around selecting individual “focus” students and developing lessons based on student strengths. We chose our focus students based on the achievement gaps at our school. We focused on incorporating culturally and linguistically sustaining practices and social emotional learning to support our students of color, our English Learners, and our students with disabilities. From this session you will walk away with strategies to implement with your students in the fall.
